Dos comedias extravagantes como son “Birdman”, del mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu, y “El gran hotel Budapest”, del estadounidense Wes Anderson, dominaron las nominaciones al Oscar con nueve candidaturas cada una, incluyendo el rubro Mejor película.
La primera, con Michael Keaton como un actor que supo ser famoso interpretando a un superhéroe y ahora trata de recuperar su carrera y su familia mientras intenta llevar a escena una obra en Broadway, fue también nominada en el rubro Guión original, coescrito por los argentinos Nicolás Giacobone y Armando Bo.
“Estoy muy feliz por toda la bandada de ‘Birdman’, porque tomó mucho valor hacer este film fuera de lo convencional”, dijo en un comunicado el director González Iñárritu, que ya compitió en 2006 con “Babel” en los mismos rubros.
“Estas nominaciones reflejan el reconocimiento de nuestros colegas así como de los miembros de la Academia. Estoy orgulloso, agradecido y conmovido”.
“Birdman” también les mereció candidaturas a Michael Keaton como mejor actor y a Edward Norton y Emma Stone por sus papeles de reparto.
“El gran hotel Budapest”, por su parte, una travesura del gran Wes Anderson que el domingo pasado ganó el Globo de Oro como mejor comedia, emergió como la más inesperada aspirante de peso pesado en los premios.
Con 59,1 millones de dólares recaudados en la taquilla norteamericana (se estrenó en marzo), también es la candidata a mejor película más lucrativa entre el modesto grupo.
Aunque consiguió nueve nominaciones, ninguna fue por actuación, algo curioso ya que tiene un elenco impresionante que encabeza Ralph Fiennes y completan Adrien Brody, F. Murray Abraham, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Harvey Keitel, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Owen Wilson, Tilda Swinton, Mathieu Amalric, Tom Wilkinson y Léa Seydoux.
“El gran hotel Budapest” destacó, sin embargo, por el meticuloso arte de Wes Anderson en categorías como dirección, producción de diseño, maquillaje y guión.
